China International Investment Arbitration Forum (CIIAF) was formally established in the beginning of 2019

Initiated by China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission(CIETAC) and Xi’an Jiaotong University School of Law, co-founded by law schools of Wuhan University, Xiamen University, Fudan University, Remin University, University of International Business and Economics, China University of Political Science and Law and Zhong Lun Law Firm, Beijing Huanzhong & Partners(BHP), Global Law Office and Chen & Co. Law Firm, China International Investment Arbitration Forum (CIIAF) was formally established on February 23, 2019. The forum is China’s first professional research platform in the field of investment arbitration and China’s first global international investment law research platform as well.


The Forum is able to bring together professionals with deep theoretical accumulation and practical experience in international investment law and arbitration, with the purpose of promoting research and communication of international investment arbitration and serving international arbitrational theory and practice development of China. By holding annual meetings, publishing annual reports on international investment law and arbitration, conducting special research projects, etc., the forum would definitely play a significant role in providing research and think tank support for government departments, arbitration and business communities, building bridges for academic and practical circles and promoting the development of arbitration practice and theoretical research results in China.


As founding body and vice chairman, Wuhan University School of Law actively participated in the founding affairs of the forum, and recommended Professor Xiao Yongping as a member of the Forum Advisory Committee, the director of Wuhan University Center of Oversea Investment Law, Professor Qi Tong as the vice chairman of the forum, and Associate Professor Xiao Jun as the deputy secretary general of the forum.


Hopefully, Wuhan University and the Center of Overseas Investment Law will continue to support the follow-up work of the forum, and make unremitting efforts to promote the development international investment law and arbitration in China together with all the founding agencies.
